Misty Morning in Wiltshire

We’ve been having lots of icy cold weather lately. We had hoar frost a couple of days over the weekend and it was so pretty to see. Of course my battery in my camera packed up, so I didn’t get any photos. We never really had hoar frost back in Georgia, so this was a treat to me. It was lovely to look at. It all finally melted on Sunday and Monday. Right now it’s really quite sunny outside, yet it’s still rather cold, but then from watching the news I see that it is a cold winter over most of the world right now, so we’re all in this together :-)

I did get some interesting quick photos from my trip out with the hubby yesterday. It was a beautiful morning and the sun was streaming through the misty clouds. It was just gorgeous and awe-inspiring. It was one of those moments when you're just glad that you’re there to see it and it makes you feel so alive. It made me feel connected to nature. Here are the photos:

I love it that these photos look as if they could have been taken in the morning or the evening. The light is strange, but so transcendent. It looked dark and bright at the same time. What a lovely way to see Wiltshire so early in the morning. I’m glad I could share this experience with everyone out there :-)

Such beautiful shots and you're right it looks as if they were taken either sun up or sun down. Either way they are beautiful.

Dori,
Thanks for visiting my blog even though I've been so caught up in getting started in class. I appreciate it.
Your photos are absolutely beautiful. The way the light comes through is almost otherworldly. I thank you so much for sharing them.

I had heard of a hoar frost, but never knew what it meant. Thank you for the improvement to my vocabulary :). Your photos are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing them.

The fourth one is my very favorite. What a shame you didn't get a photo of the hoar frost! (I never knew it was called that before.)

These pictures will never age, unlike pictures of us.

Beautiful morning pics, Dori.
It's about 5 F here today and I'm not happy about it. It will get even colder tonight & tomorrow. Than the heat wase comes for the weekend - low 20's (F). Yipeee!
p.s. It's not usually this cold in my neck of the woods.
Stay warm :o)

Hello Dori,
Of course my newer computer went on vacation and I had to send it back to HP a few days ago. This computer I'm using now has its own issues so I'm not able to enjoy the real beauty of your pics in their full glory.

At any rate, I know they are stunning because nature NEVER disappoints and it always helps to have a great photographer too. :-)

Those are wonderful photos - you have captured the somewhat eerie atmosphere very well!

I just wanted to let you know that I have nominated you for the Lemonade Award. I very much enjoy reading about your life in Wiltshire and I look forward to many more interesting and inspiring blog posts.

The Lemonade Award

I would like to thank Susan Berg at http://dementia.today.com for nominating me for the Lemonade Award. You can check out some of Susan’s favourite blogs by following this link.

None of us would like to end up with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia, yet we don’t often think about what we can do now to prevent the onset of the disease in later life. On her Dementia Expert and Alzheimer’s Activities Expert blogs, she explains some actions that we can take today that will help to prevent the future development of these debilitating illnesses.

From a personal point of view, I am absolutely thrilled to receive the Lemonade Award. It is my first blogging award and so will always be special. I have only been blogging for just over a month now and I love it! I’ve also “met” some wonderful people in the “blogosphere,” so choosing just ten blogs that display gratitude and a wonderful attitude was very difficult.

Here are my nominations for the Lemonade Award:

Congratulations to all of you!

Please share this award with your ten favourite bloggers by doing the following: 1) Put the logo on your blog or post. 2) Nominate at least 10 blogs, which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude! 3) Be sure to link to your nominees within your post. 4) Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog. 5) Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

Thanks once again, Susan, and thank you to the above bloggers for creating such interesting and inspiring blogs. I look forward to reading many more of your blog entries!

I had to leave a comment when I saw that you are promoting Nelson Mandela's 46664 foundation (the apartheid regime thought he was the Anti-Christ, so they gave him that inmate number in prison!)

Greeting from Zimbabwe. Love the photos! Of course, it is never that cold here, even in our winter we hover around 18 -20 Celsius.

Amazing photos. Sometimes when I am outside taking pictures that aren't even nature related, I just have to get the sky in there if it is especially brilliantly blue or has interesting/dramatic cloud formations like this. Thanks for sharing your photographer vision.
