Five years ago today, Brit Boy and I were engaged to be married. We were visiting Stourhead which is a beautiful estate in southwest Wiltshire. I had no idea that this would be the day that he would propose to me. I was over here for a visit and I just thought it was a nice day out. We walked around the main house on the estate and then we set out for a walk around all the trails through the beautiful gardens. There are several other buildings on the site that peek out of the trees. It's gorgeous there.
It was a beautiful day and a wonderful experience.
Stourhead holds a special place in my heart.
So this morning, Brit Boy went out early to do an errand and I didn't go with him since I needed to study. Well, he comes back into the house with a big bunch of flowers for me to commemorate this wonderful day in our lives.
What a wonderful day this will always be!

Happy engagement anniversary!
What a sweet memory and lovely pictures Dori.
You know how I like Stourhead too. It was almost a year ago that I arrived back in the UK on one of my multiple trips across the ocean and John took me there on the way back from the airport.
Not long after that he proposed on our special bridge near Helland. I wonder how often that happens on bridges.
I loved the scenery, the photos are beautiful and such a lovely way to get engaged. My engagement wasn't nearly as romantic maybe that's why I can't remember all the details. It's so great that he actually remembers the date and brought you beautiful flowers, thanks for sharing.
Visiting from SITS! What a wonderful memory...and even more wonderful that hubby still remembers to celebrate it!

Stopping in from SITS.
Beautiful place! I'm still holding out some hope for my own Brit boy, whom I affectionately refer to as "my constant source of frustration." :)
First - What a pleasant surprise to see you in my EC inbox! I was just thinking about the blogs I used to drop on more regularly when I was just starting out at EC last year, and that included yours. But I couldn't remember your blog address, so I was really happily surprised to visit again :)
Second - what a lovely place to share such a romantic and momentous event in your lives! :)
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Made more beautiful for you in that it is enhanced by such wonderful memories.
peace,

Hi. I am an american woman from Georgia too! I am dating a fellow named Dave and he is from South Hampton, England. He often talks about his wishes to move back home and me going along with him. Although I love to travel, I have never been outside the US.. So, Dave suggested that I google american women living in England, yours was the first to pop up!! How do you like living in another country?
Rita
Dorothy L,
I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)
Rita,
It's great to meet you :) Small world isn't it? Wow! Well, I like living here and it's great to get to experience things from another perspective in the world. Sometimes I get a bit homesick, but with technology I'm able to stay in touch with those I love back home :) I would suggest that you maybe should come over with him for a visit and get a taste of what it's like here. It's a wonderful experience and I say give it a try. Thanks so much for commenting and let me know how it goes for you :) Email me sometime. Hugs!
